These are photos from militay personnal and those who evtertain them etc. I'm putting in six to start with. If you have any post them here. Red Grandy ©Stars and Stripes Frankfurt, Germany, June, 1967: Mom's interview with TV host Art Linkletter is going fine, but the kids don't seem to have plans to say anything, darndest or otherwise. Linkletter, who was taping a series of "House Party" shows on European bases, became famous for his entertaining interviews with children; they led to such books as "Kids Say the Darndest Things," which sold millions of copies. ©Stars and Stripes Berlin, February, 1947: Berliners have traditionally been protective of their parks and trees, but during the bitter winter of 1946-47, survival came ahead of aesthetics. Here, several residents of the city divide up some fresh firewood in an effort to avoid the fate of 170 people who had already perished due to the elements. Red Grandy ©Stars and Stripes Schweinfurt, Germany, August 12, 1976: Gen. Alexander M. Haig, Supreme Allied Commander, Europe, visits Training Area M, near Schweinfurt, Germany. Haig praised the combat-readiness of units preparing to take part in Autumn Forge maneuvers. B.S. Carmichael ©Stars and Stripes Iwo Jima, February 19, 1965: Former Marine Cpl. Rene Gagnon, left, and fellow Battle of Iwo Jima veteran Master Sgt. Andrew Zihar stand near the location on Mt. Suribachi where, on February 23, 1945, Gagnon and five other men were photographed raising the flag in what has become an iconic image of the U.S. Marine Corps. ©Stars and Stripes Clark Air Base, Philippines, February, 1973: Army Staff Sgt. Bobby L. Johnson, recently released after spending more than four years in a North Vietnamese POW Camp, salutes before getting on a plane at Clark Air Base for his flight home. Dennis Rogers ©Stars and Stripes Yokohama, Japan, January, 1989: A banner displayed at the Japan Bowl football game by U.S. Marines Jack Bejo and Harold Loving for the folks watching on TV back home localizes the traditional plea for spending money. Bejo, from West Virginia, and Loving, from Bradford, Va., are with 3rd Battalion, 6th Marines at Camp Fuji.

South Vietnam, July, 1969: U.S. Pacific commander Adm. John S. McCain, Jr., left, and U.S. military commander in Vietnam Gen. Creighton Abrams await the arrival of Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Earle Wheeler at Tan Son Nhut Air Base. The three were to hold secret talks to assess a recent lull in fighting and determine whether the U.S. should reduce its military operations in Vietnam.

Tokyo, January, 1952: Cartoonist Bill Mauldin, right, joins Cecil Brownlow of International News Service and Earnest Hoberecht of United Press in a "sporting engagement" at the Correspondents Club in Tokyo. "In the last war I had to shoot dice and play poker on a buck sergeant's pay while the correspondents had expense accounts," said Mauldin, whose "Willie and Joe" cartoons for Stars and Stripes during World War II earned him a Pulitzer Prize. This time, he was on assignment (and expense account) for Collier's. In March, 2010, the U.S. Postal Service honored Mauldin with a stamp.

If you click on the posted picture, it will expand to larger version...so I don't know.

I think I might have to reset the system. Like a restart. It should have gotten bigger but all I got was a blank and a little "x" in the corner. Usually you right click and then click on show picture and it pops us but it doesn't want to. beb in a while.

SRB how about posting the pic again.
I'm curious as to why this is happening.
Maybe reposting it might help.
I did a restart and the same thing is happening. It shouldn't be happening though.

Berlin, October, 1961: A woman stands at a memorial to one of the first people killed trying to cross into West Berlin after the building of the Wall two months earlier. Tokyo, July 27, 1965: Robert Culp and Bill Cosby wait for filming of an episode of their hit TV series, " I Spy," to resume in the garden of the New Otani Hotel. The series was the first TV drama in which an African-American played a leading role; Cosby won three Emmy awards for his portrayal of tennis trainer/secret agent Alexander Scott. Defense Secretary Robert Gates pins the Silver Star on U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer 3 James Woolley, of Task Force Tallon, during an award ceremony Tuesday at Kandahar Air Base in Afghanistan.

Griesheim, Germany, June 10, 1958: Singer Sarah Vaughan performs at Stars and Stripes' Press Club during her whirlwind tour of U.S. installations in Europe. A review of the show noted that Vaughn's "meticulous reading of 'Tenderly,' her whimsical take-off of Ella Fitzgerald's 'How High the Moon,' her perfect pitch and delicate phrasing are all clues as to why she belongs in the very top flight of modern singers."
